During the lockdown we have been enjoying nature like never before. Spring came with its beautiful flowers, and we were there to witness their beauty. As a result the trend of edible flowers will rise.

There are three possibilities to use flowers in food

During the lockdown we have been enjoying nature like never before. Spring came with its beautiful flowers, and we were there to witness their beauty. The trend of edible flowers in the food industry was already here prior to Corona, and will continue its rise.

There are three possibilities to use flowers in food.


Edible flowers in drinks

Drinks; Decoration

Edible flowers as decoration, in the drink itself.

Drinks; edible flowers in ice cubes.

Edible flowers frozen into an ice cube. These can be different shapes, from traditional cubes, to longer sticks or custom shapes. it’s a beautiful and romantic decoration.


Edible flowers in food dishes

Edible flowers as an ingredient of dishes

Edible flowers as an ingredient of preferable cold dishes; for example in salads


Edible flowers as decoration to food dishes

Edible flowers can also be added to food dishes as decoration, preferably cold dishes, such as salads or a bowl of strawberries.


Edible food as an ingredient of food itself

The third possibility is that you add edible flowers as an ingredient to food itself.

A great example, edible flowers in pasta dough – (because pasta only requires a very short cooking time, they will stay beautiful)
