From Mass to High End

Crocs are an amazing example of how a mass market became high end afterwards. That is the other way around as what we are used of.

Crocs Collaborations background stories

Balenciaga

In October of 2017, Balenciaga caused a stir in the fashion world when creative director Demna Gvasalia sent a pair of five-inch platform Crocs down the runway in Paris. The classic clog maintains its signature upper with the additions of fridge magnet-inspired Jibbitz charms.

Coming in colorway options of pink, tan and black, the models instantly sold out upon release. Of the collaboration Gvasalia stated, “It’s light, and in the future you will be able to 3D print them at home because they are all one piece — we are using a one-piece foam mold, and working with these kinds of materials is very Balenciaga!”

Ruby Rose

Just Love is a collaboration celebrating Pride, the message of equality and acceptance is one that resonates across movements and communities. In honor of this partnership they have made a donation to GLAAD, a leading media advocacy organisation working to accelerate LGBTQ acceptance, with the hope that we can create a world where everyone can live the life they love.

Post Malone

The rapper is teaming up with the footwear brand to release the Post Malone x Crocs Duet Max Clog II in a pink and black colorway. Post Malone has also helped design a set of Crocs’ charms, called Jibbitz, that includes images of grapes, hearts, rubber ducks and other images inspired by his many tattoos.

In a press release, Malone shared his love for the brand, saying, “If you like something, go get it. I wear Crocs everywhere from the bar to the stage and I felt it was the perfect collaboration to get together with Crocs and give the fans what they’ve been asking for. Each time Crocs and I partner, we make something better than before and I’m excited about what we came up with this time around. Drop 5 is going to be one my fans remember.”

Barneys New York

The summer of Crocs is here, whether you're ready or not and regardless of if the ugly shoe trend offend your tastes. The next step of their world foot domination? Barneys New York. We thought we had seen it all: Crocs with pre-attached socks, Balenciaga high heeled Crocs, and Crocs made for gem collectors and science nerds alike. But Crocs reminiscent of the 90s, and oozing punk vibes?

These Barneys New York Crocs come with spikes and chains that practically play Blink 182 while you walk. And if that's not your vibe, maybe a bright pink pair with pre-curated Jibbitz.

If you never thought you would cross over into Team Crocs, this Barneys collection might be that final nudge you need. These shoes are the peak of being fashion-forward. Pulling inspiration from the streets of Manhattan in the '80s, the clogs are full of slight nods to punk culture and NYC as a whole. There are the obvious punk style accents, like spike detailing and silver hardware chains. But then there are more subtle tributes to the Era of Excess and its counterculture underbelly. For example, there's a boombox charm, which pays tribute to rap culture in New York's boroughs. Then there's David Bowie's iconic green lightning bolt, which was the symbol of misfits and rebels.
