Glamorous Sport - Blurred Dress Codes
Corona caused a big blur in many of our activities. We worked from home and had to work out at home. Whereas before corona these were very different areas of our lives, they blurred together as activities flowed through each other while in quarantine. We spent more time in comfortable clothing as a result of this, only putting on a presentable top when it came time to be on camera.
Simultaneously a blur is happening between gender identity. Male, female, or third gender, there is less of a distinct line between them and between the gender of the clothing we wear.
We see the borders of our activities and thus our dress codes fade into each other.
There has long been a divide between sportswear as part of fashion and streetwear, and sportswear for purely functional reasons. As the way we work out changes, so does the line between sportswear for function and sportswear for fashion. The borders between the two are blurring and functional sportswear will be a more fashionable item, able to express personality and glamour.
